Bihar Governor Buta Singh left for New Delhi on Monday after he was summoned by Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil for discussions on the controversial transfer of 17 IPS officers.
State Chief Secretary G Kang proceeded on long leave last Friday to protest Singh's autocratic style and for not being consulted on major issues including the transfers of top officials.
Sources said there were indications that may be replaced by someone more suitable in view of next assembly polls in state.

Sources in Raj Bhawan in Patna confirmed that Singh had left for New Delhi.
A senior Congress leader told rediff.com that the Congress high command has asked state party president Sadadand Singh to report on the likely political fallout of the controversy. The Bihar IAS Association is meeting on Monday to deliberate on the issue. "We plan to evolve a consensus among members to make a final and united decision soon," said R S Tiwari, association president.
BJP president and Leader of the Opposition L K Advani had last Saturday sought Patil's intervention in wake of the transfers. Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar and state BJP president Sushil Kumar Modi have demanded Singh's recall.
