Indian flag on Musharraf's plane was upside down

April 16, 2005 16:26 IST
It was intended to symobilise Indian-Pakistan friendship but turned out to be a faux pas of sorts.

The Indian flag on the special Pakistan International Airlines plane, which brought Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf [ Images ] to Jaipur [ Images ], was displayed upside down.

The aircraft had the Tricolour on one side of its nose and Pakistan flag on the other.

However, the mistake was detected soon after Musharraf and his wife Sehba left for Ajmer in a helicopter and was
rectified.

The Indian Air Force helicopter, which ferried Musharraf to Ajmer, also displayed flags of the two countries.
