Noting the signing of a 'historic' accord on vexed boundary issues between the two nuclear giants, all the dailies gave details of the 1962 war and the four decades chill.

The formal recognition of Sikkim as India's integral part by China is seen as a sign of 'flexibility' on part of Beijing.
"This time the Chinese had adopted very soft and correct approach on all the contentious issues. China wants to project itself as a peace loving power and dispel fears about the 'Chinese threat'," Deputy Director of Russian Science Academy's Far East Institute Vladimir Portyakov was quoted as saying by Vremya Novostyei.
"The full-format cooperation between two Asian giants - India and China is in Russia's interests, since our country has much higher advantage in the Asian markets and Asian Politics," Portyakov said.
"The partnership between India and China would mainly develop in economy and energy, although the political interaction of the two nations would be limited and hardly could be directed against the United States," Director of Centre for Indian Studies of the Russian Science Academy, Dr Tatiana Shaumyan told Vedomosti daily.
