Three security personnel have been arrested on charges of 'handing over' weapons to militants in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, a senior police official said on Tuesday.
"We have put the three constables -- Nazir Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed and Mohmmad Shafi -- under suspension for succumbing to militants on Monday," Deputy Inspector General Satvir Gupta said.
"They will be interrogated by the Joint Interrogation Cell to find out their involvement, if any, in the incident," he said.
On Monday night, militants had kidnapped four policemen on duty at a school in Gulabgarh area of Udhampur district, where annual examinations were being held.
The ultras killed one officer Mohmmad Sharief. His body was found on the outskirts of Gulabgarh town, the official added. The three other cops managed to free themselves and reached the local army camp, Gupta said.
However, the militants took three AK rifles, one INSAS rifle, 12 magazines and 400 rounds from them.
