Over a thousand passengers were stranded at the Srinagar airport after flights from and into the Valley were cancelled on Thursday due to strong winds that affected visibility.
Ten flights, four each of Jet Airways and Indian Airlines and two of Sahara were scheduled for the day, an air traffic control spokesman said.
He said strong winds swept the Valley throughout the day.
Power supply was disrupted in the Valley as windstorm uprooted trees, electric poles and rooftops at various places, including Tral and Shopian in Pulwama district. No loss of life was reported.
