Last updated on: April 06, 2005 19:37 IST

Pakistan on Wednesday condemned the militant attack on a building in Jammu and Kashmir [ Images ] where passengers scheduled to travel by the inaugural Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus were lodged.

"We strongly condemn this attack. The bus service is a humanitarian gesture to reunite the divided families. The innocent travellers have committed no crime," Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Jalil Abbas Jilani told PTI.

Farooq Haider, a senior official in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir, said the bus will run as per schedule. "Violence will not delay the bus service".

Asked who was behind the attack, Jilani said: "I am not in a position to say who is responsible. Whoever is responsible, it is highly condemnable. The attack on innocent Kashmiris is an attack on humanity."
