Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation Oscar Fernandes will represent India at the funeral of Pope John Paul II, who died on Saturday.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday, the Vatican said.
The Pope had been ill for quite some time. In February, he underwent a tracheotomy after he suffered from breathing problems.
