The authorities have shifted 12 passengers of the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus -- which will start services on April 7 -- from Poonch and Rajouri districts to Jammu city citing better security arrangements, official sources said on Sunday.
The decision was taken following death threats from Al-Nasreen militant outfit.
Eight passengers from Rajouri and four from Poonch were shifted to a hotel in Jammu, where multi-tier security has been activated, the sources added.
Of the 29 passengers cleared to board the inaugural bus, 14 belong to Jammu region and 15 to Kashmir [ Images ].
Besides the 12 passengers, former Deputy Commissioner of Poonch Khalid Hussain and his wife Naseeem Firdos in Jammu city too have been provided high-level security after they allegedly received death threats from militants.
The passengers would be taken to Srinagar [ Images ] on April 5 for their onward journey to Muzaffarabad, the sources said.
