One of Pakistan President Gen Pervez Musharraf's presents to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh reveals how September 26 came to be regarded as the latter's date of birth.
Singh, who celebrated his 72nd birthday on board his special aircraft Tanjore on the way to Geneva, told reporters on Monday, "I really don't know my exact birthday. This is the date mentioned in my school records."
During their meeting in New York, Singh said Musharraf had presented to him a picture of the village he was born in western Punjab and another of the school in which he had studied as well as photographs of some of the people 'who say they were my contemporaries'.
