Fourteen people were killed and at least 34 injured when a bus fell into a river at Bhyaple along Pokhara-Baglung Highway, about 250 km west of Kathmandu, this morning, official sources in Kathmandu said.
The injured included five tourists -- four Israelis and one Australian, the Nepal Tourism Board said.
Twelve injured passengers were taken to Pokhara for treatment while 22 were taken to Kushma Hospital in Parvat district, it said in a release.
The bus fell into Modi River at 8.30 am when it was heading towards famous tourist spot Pokhara from Beni.
Police said the government-owned Sajha Transport bus was crowded with at least 60 people.
A helicopter was sent to rescue the passengers of the bus, police sources said.
