The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday said Veer Savarkar and the 'Tiranga Yatra' by former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti would not be major issues for it during the October 13 assembly election in Maharashtra.

"These two issues are the wrongdoings of Congress and hence the party will use it. But our main thrust of campaign will be the anti-incumbency factor against the Democratic Front government's rule during last five years," party general secretary Pramod Mahajan said in Nagpur.

"The party will focus on a series of failures of the DF government, including farmers' suicides, malnutrition deaths, electricity crisis, water scarcity, poor road connectivity and of course the rise in number of riots in Maharashtra," Mahajan said.

Asked about the translation of votes from Bharti's yatra, he said, "Since the code of conduct is in force in the state, BJP may not be able to give rousing reception to Bharti in the state."

Bharti will also cover various parts of Vidharbha during her 16-day yatra.
