Nepal has said it is 'working on' India's request to investigate possible links between one of its private media group and New Delhi's most-wanted fugitive Dawood Ibrahim.

"We are working on this after India had made a request in this regard," Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba told PTI.

The Indian Government had said earlier this month that it had made the request as part of an 'ongoing cooperation' with Nepal on issues related to terrorism.

The Nepalese prime minister, however, declined to give a specific time-frame for the investiagtion.

"It will come out, though I cannot specify a particular time for this," he said.

The Indian government is expected to raise the issue again during Deuba's visit to New Delhi next week.

In its request for investigation made in July, India had alleged that it had 'credible information' that Dawood had a stake in Space Time Network, which owns a Nepali language newspaper, a TV channel and a cable distribution network.

The media company, however, denied the allegations and said all its accounts were transparent and it was ready to submit any document if the government desired so.
