The first Sikh prime minister of the country, Manmohan Singh, and his wife Gursharan Kaur on Wednesday paid obeisance at Amritsar's Golden Temple on the 400th anniversary of the installation of Guru Granth Sahib.
On the occasion the PM announced fulfilment of long pending demands of the Sikhs.

Complex at Anandpur Sahib, besides setting up of a Rs 1,100 crore Special Economic Zone to accelerate industrial development and generate employment.
Referring to Akali Dal chief Parkash Singh Badal's demands, the PM said he would try to get the manuscripts and books missing from the temple since the army's Operation Blue Star in 1984 restored to the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee.
Later, the PM and his wife went to Jallianwala Bagh and paid tributes to the martyrs who were killed by British troops on April 13, 1919.
