Appearing for the state, senior advocate Ashok Desai also said that the state has recommended dismissal from service of former state environment secretary R K Sharma, who was found guilty in the scam.
In the case pertaining to P L Punia, former principal secretary to then chief minister Mayawati, the state expressed its inability to proceed with the disciplinary proceedings in the face of inability expressed by CBI to share the evidence collected by them.
Punia was alleged to have said that on instructions from Mayawati, he had noted her approval on the file though she had told the CBI that her approval was never obtained by Punia.
The CBI agreed to give details of the evidence only after it decided the question of prosecution of the accused persons.
