In the first incident of its kind in India, a suicide bomber rammed an explosive laden car into a passing army bus killing five soldiers and wounding 45 others, including 10 civilians.
The incident occurred late Saturday morning at Singhpora village on the strategic Srinagar-Uri highway when the bus, part of a heavily escorted army convoy, was making its way to Baramulla.
The injured have been airlifted to Srinagar for treatment.
