IA reschedules flights for air show

The Indian Airlines has rescheduled some of its outgoing flights from October 13 to 17 between 4 pm and 5 pm due to closure of airspace for rehearsals and air display next Sunday by the Indian Air Force.

Flights to Hyderabad (IC 928) will depart at 3.25 pm (instead of 4.15 pm), Jaipur (IC 611) at 3.20pm (4 pm), and to Delhi via Indore and Bhopal (CD 7133) at 3.15 pm (4 pm), Vadodara via Rajkot at 5 pm (4.45 pm), IA said in a release on Friday.

On October 13 and 15, the flight to Sharjah via Goa and Kozhikode at 3.30 pm (4 pm) and on October 14, 16 and 17 to Sharjah via Kozhikode and Kochi at 3.30 pm (3.45 pm), the release added.

The one-hour air display over the Marine Drive from 4 pm is being held as incoming and outgoing air traffic is lean during this period, an IAF official said.

This is the first time that an air display is being held in the city to commemorate the birth centenary of J R D Tata and 50th year of Subroto Mukherjee taking charge as the first Indian Chief of Air Staff.
