At least eight more people, seven of them bomb carriers of the banned National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), were killed in Assam since Saturday night even as the outfit along with another banned organisation, the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), set off a series of explosions across the state on Sunday morning.
The death toll in Assam now stands at over 30 since Saturday. The NDFB is observing its 18th Raising day today.
Security analysts are now convinced that even the blasts in Dimapur, which killed at least 36 people on Saturday were trigerred by the NDFB.
Till noon on Sunday, six different blasts were reported from as diverse places as Mangaldai, Baska, Gossaigaon, Sonari, Rangapara and Dhekiajuli.
Four NDFB cadres were killed late last night as the bomb that they were carrying went off before it could be planted at a predesignated place.

In a similar incident on Sunday morning, three NDFB cadres were killed at Rangapara in Sonitpur district, police said. A civilian was killed at Baska as a bomb planted at Baska weekly market went of this morning.
On Saturday NDFB had killed at least 20 people in different incidents.
The NDFB is not very active in Sonari in upper Assam hence police think that the ULFA is sure to have trigerred the blast to express its solidarity with the NDFB.
Both these organisations were thought to be on the backfoot after an operation by the Royal Bhutanese Army in December 2003 had driven many of its cadres out of the Kingdom's souhthern jungles.
