Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [ Images ] prayed at the famous Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar [ Images ] on Wednesday, shortly after his arrival on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir [ Images ].

The PM was accompanied by Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad [ Images ], Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and other top officials.

The imam of the shrine, where a strand of hair said to be that of Prophet Mohammad is kept, offered a shawl to the PM and briefed him about the holy place.
