The son-in-law of hardline Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani was on Monday injured when unidentified gunmen fired on him at Buchpora in Srinagar, official sources said.
Police said Altaf Ahmad Shah was rushed to the Soura Medical Institute for treatment.
Srinagar district police chief Javed Geelani told newsmen that gunmen opened fire at Shah near his house at Buchpora on the city outskirts.
"He was shifted to hospital. He has received a bullet in his neck," he said.
Police sources said Shah he is out of danger.
