Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on Friday appeared determined not to give in to the Naxals' insistence on retaining arms.
"We are very clear on that," Reddy told reporters on the sidelines of an Air Sahara function at Hyderabad.
The state cabinet had last week hardened its stance on the issue and decided to make laying down of arms the main issue on the agenda in the second round of talks, which is expected to begin in the third week of November.
The first round of talks between the Naxalites and the state government in October mainly focussed on the land distribution issue.
