Nadia Khan, 27-year-old assistant of noted film director Kaizad Gustad, died in a rail mishap and not in a road accident as claimed by her colleagues, a probe by Mumbai police has revealed.
Not only will the probe now be taken over by the railway police, but the city police is also contemplating action against Gustad's men for lodging a 'false complaint' at Tardeo police station that Nadia, a British national, was hit by a speeding car on May 25.
"We are transferring the investigation to Government Railway Police (GRP) and will take action against those who filed a false complaint," Joint Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Javed Ahmed told PTI on Monday.
The mystery behind Nadia Khan's death was solved after police summoned Gustad and asked him to accompany them to Mahalaxmi railway station on Monday morning.
Gustad, accompanied by DCP (Zone IV) Ashok Dongre, visited the railway station and surveyed the track for some distance, sources said.
Speaking to newspersons, Gustad said he would clarify his stance by late Monday evening. "Let the police complete its formalities," he added.
Gustad directed Bombay Boys and Boom.
