(Council of Scientific & Industrial Research) announces:
Information Science Courses
1. Associateship in Information Science 2004-06 (a two-year course equivalent to a master's degree in Library & Information Science recognised by the government of India & many universities).
Applications are invited for the 2004-2006 batch for the course commencing on September 1, 2004.
Eligibility: A minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks in a master's degree; or four-year plus degree like BE/MBBS; or a bachelor's degree plus bachelor's in library science plus one year of relevant experience after B Lib Sc.
Selection: Twenty-five candidates based on the admission test (June 17, 2004) and interview (which will be held in the third week of July).
Test & interview centres: New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore/ Mumbai.
Scholarships: There is a provision for scholarships up to 40 per cent of non-sponsored meritorious students at the rate of Rs 1,000 per month for a period of nine months.
How to apply: The prospectus and the application form can be obtained from the Head, ETTG, from May 6, 2004, onwards in person or by sending a self-addressed envelope (25cm x 20 cm size) affixed with Rs 25 worth of postage stamps. Also enclose a DD/postal order for Rs 100 drawn in favour of the director, NISCAIR, payable at New Delhi.
