Alert: NDA, Naval Academy exams

The National Defence Academy and the Naval Academy Examination (II), 2004

 

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2004, on August 22, 2004, for admission to the Army, the Navy and Air Force Wings of the NDA for the 114th Course, and to the Naval Academy for the 34th 10+2 (Executive Branch) course commencing from July 2005.

 

For details regarding the syllabus and scheme of the examination, centres of examination, guidelines for filling up application forms, etc, aspirants must consult the detailed notice of the examination published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated March 20, 2004.

 

Age Limit, Sex, and Marital Status: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than July 2, 1986, and not later than January 1, 1989, only are eligible.

 

Educational Qualifications:

 

For the Army Wing: Candidates who have passed the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

 

For the Naval and Air Force Wings, and for the 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course of Naval Academy: Candidates who have passed the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics, conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

 

Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination can also apply.

 

Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2004 as given in Appendix V of Commission's Notice for Examination published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated March 20, 2004.

 

Application Form: Candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for the examinations, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix-III of the Notice) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs 20 only. Each such form can be used only once and only for one examination.

 

In case of difficulty in obtaining the application forms from the designated HPO/PO, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or UPSC 'Forms Supply Monitoring Cell' over telephone 011-23389366 or fax: 011-23387310. 

 

Fee: Rs 50 through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST candidates are exempt from payment of Fees. (OBC candidates are required to pay the full fees).

 

Last date for receipt of applications: All applications must reach the Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi 110069, either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before April 19, 2004. 

 

However, in respect of candidates residing abroad or in certain remote localities specified in the Notice the last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed Post only (not by hand or by courier) is April 26, 2004.

 

Facilitation counter and web site for guidance of candidates: In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their applications, candidates can contact UPSC's Facilitation Counter near 'C' Gate of its campus in person or over telephone 011-23385271/23381125/23098543 on working days between 1000 hours to 1700 hours.

 

The Commission also has a web site www.upsc.gov.in over which the candidates can obtain details of the examination as well as information about registration of their applications, venue of the examination and result, etc.
