Police raided over 35 bars and clubs in Mumbai on Saturday.
Data on raids at 28 bars and clubs had been collected with 27 offences registered against bar owners, managers, bar girls and customers, numbering over 500, police officials said on Sunday.
The raids, conducted simultaneously all over the city, were aimed at curbing the flesh trade proliferating in the metropolis and also at clamping down on violations of rules for operation of such establishments, the officials said.
The police had conducted similar raids on over 60 bars and clubs last month, leading to the arrest of over 1,000 bar employees and owners and 700 customers.
