Shiv Sena [ Images ] chief Bal Thackeray [ Images ] has rejected an invitation to have dinner with top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ], including former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee [ Images ].

The dinner meeting was supposed to take place on Tuesday night at a five-star hotel in suburban Andheri in Mumbai [ Images ].

Thackeray told a TV channel that he would not like to discuss politics with Vajpayee and other senior BJP leaders over dinner. "I wish to talk to Vajpayeeji alone, and if required I would visit him in Delhi [ Images ] and discuss." Thackeray said.
