The National Human Rights Commission on Friday sought a report from Gujarat police over the killing in an encounter of four persons, including a girl, who were alleged to be terrorists on a mission to kill Chief Minister Narendra Modi [ Images ].

Taking suo motu cognizance of media reports questioning the police claim that the slain persons were terrorists, NHRC directed the Gujarat Director General of Police and Ahmedabad [ Images ] Senior Superintendent of Police to ensure the probe was undertaken as per the guidelines of the Commission and furnish a report within six weeks.
