The issue of 'tainted' ministers in the Dr Manmohan Singh-led United Progressive Alliance government on Tuesday rocked Parliament with opposition members shouting slogans leading to adjournments in both the upper and lower Houses.

While the Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day, the Lok Sabha has been adjourned for two hours.

In the Lok Sabha, slogan-shouting members from the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies stormed the well of the House shouting 'Manmohan Singh shame, shame' and 'dagi mantri hatao, desh bachao' (remove tainted ministers, save the nation).

Repeated pleas by Speaker Somnath Chatterjee to restore order proved futile, leading to adjournment of the House till 1400 IST.
