The toll in the floods in 19 districts of Bihar mounted to 574 on Saturday with 34 more deaths in the worst-hit Darbhanga district.
But the overall flood situation in the state improved with major rivers maintaining a receding trend.

Official sources said reports of 34 more deaths poured in from far-flung areas of Darbhanga, taking the toll in that district alone to 164.
Over two crore people continued to reel under the impact of the floods in 9,291 villages.
The state government has established 951 relief centres, 466 medical centres and 183 veterinary centres to provide relief to the people, the sources said.
