The situation in Tripura's bordering areas, which are flooded by waters from river Bhairav of neighbouring Bangladesh, is improving gradually, sources said in Agartala on Tuesday.

Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Agartala, Sima Das, said the floodwater is receding but 10,000 people who are sheltered in government buildings and schools are yet to return.
The people were rendered homeless as parts of Agartala were submerged by overflowing waters from Bangladesh.
