Applications are invited for the entrance examination for admission to post-graduate super-specialty courses, 2004, in medical colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Kozhikode in the following specialities.

1. M Ch Paediatric Surgery

2. M Ch Plastic Surgery

3. M Ch Genito-Urinary Surgery

4. M Ch Thoracic Surgery

5. M Ch Neurosurgery

6. M Ch Gastro-Enterology Surgery

7. D M Cardiology

8. D M Gastro-Enterology

9. D M Neurology

10. D M Nephology

Eligibility for admission
(i) Nativity: Applicant should be an Indian citizen of Kerala origin.

(ii) Academic qualifications: MBBS degree and appropriate post-graduate degree (MD / MS) from universities in Kerala or from any other university recognised by universities in Kerala or an appropriate diploma from the National Board.

Registration: Candidates should be registered with the T C Medical Council.

Age: Upper age limit for general merit candidates and service candidates will be 45 years and 47 years respectively as on the last date of the submission of the completed application form, July 31.

Selection and entrance examination
Selection of general merit candidates will be made on the basis of their rank in the entrance examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations at Thiruvananthapuram on August 21-22.

Service candidates will have to qualify in the entrance examination for being considered against service quota seats, the selection of which will be based on service seniority.

The entrance examination will consist of two papers, each of one-and-a-half hours duration. The questions will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions). Appearance in Paper I and II of the entrance examination is compulsory for admission to the course. Details regarding the courses, eligibility, etc, are given in the prospectus issued by the director of medical education.

Application forms
The prospectus and application forms are available in CEE's official Web site, cee-kerala.org.

Separate application forms have been prescribed for general and service candidates.

Candidates seeking admission to this course can apply in the prescribed format (general / service as applicable) after downloading it from the Web site. Please enclose the necessary documents and a demand draft for Rs 1,500 drawn on SBT / SBI, in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Last date for the receipt of the filled-in application forms
Candidates, including service candidates, seeking admission should forward their completed application with all the required documents to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram -- 695 001, either by registered post or hand delivery so as to reach him before 5 pm on Saturday, July 31. Service candidates should also forward a copy of the application form along with copies of all required documents to the Controlling Officer (DME / DHS) concerned so as to reach him / her on or before July 31.
