Tripura remained cut off from the rest of the country for the sixth day on Thursday with landslides blocking the Assam-Agartala National Highway 44 at Sonarpur in Meghalaya and incessant rainfall delaying repair work, official sources said in Agartala.

Border Road Task Force (BRTF) sources said 300 people and five bulldozers were working round the clock since July 10 to clear the debris at Sonarpur but heavy rains was delaying progress.

Incessant rains have caused huge landslides on the roads and boulders falling were damaging or demolishing many structures.
