Over one lakh pilgrims from different states across the country have registered for the annual Amarnath Yatra to the cave shrine in south Kashmir himalayas.
"The Amaranth Yatra registration figures have crossed one lakh mark. As many as 13,0987 pilgrims have been registered at 88 different counters set up in different states of the country," the official said.
The registration crossed the one lakh mark Friday, he said adding registration is going smoothly in all registration counters across India.
The registration commenced Monday at 88 brnahces of JK Bank across the country as well as through online services from July 5. Nearly 3,500 yatris would be allowed to undertake the yatra daily, he said.
As many as 159,000 pilgrims are expected yo visit the holy cave shrine of Amarnath this year, he said adding this is the quota for this year. Of them, 1,21,500 pilgrims would visit cave shrine via Chandanwari, 37,600 would go from Baltal route.
