The Indian Army Wednesday said the five Pakistani infiltrators killed near the Line of Control on Tuesday in Jammu sector had plans to target the Amarnath Yatra and some vital defence installations in Akhnoor and Jammu.
General Officer Commanding of 10 Infantry Division Major General B S Jaswal told reporters at the site of Tuesday's encounter that from the documents, diaries and letters recovered from the militants and coded messages intercepted so far, it can be concluded that this group had been assigned specific tasks.
The annual Amarnath Yatra in south Kashmir commences on July 15.
