SIT raids Pradeep Sawant's residence, office

The Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Special Investigation Team on Thursday jointly conducted raids at the residence and office of Deputy Commissioner of Police Pradeep Sawant, who was arrested in connection with the multicrore stamp paper scam.

Two teams of ACB and SIT began searching Sawant's residence at Parvati Sadan, Matunga in Central Mumbai while another team searched his office at Special branch near the Commissioners of Police office in South Mumbai.

Sawant was arrested on Wednesday under MCOCA for allegedly shielding Abdul Karim Telgi, prime accused in the stamp paper scam.
