Veterinary Council of India, AICEE Examination 2004
The Veterinary Council of India invites applications for entrance examination for filling up 15% of total number of seats to be filled on merit in each Veterinary College from Indian Nationals for admission to first year of Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry degree course for the session 2004-2005.
Date of Examination: May 9, 2004, at the centers (cities) stated in the Bulletin of Information.
Duration of Course: The duration of BVSc & AH degree course is spread over five complete academic years including a compulsory rotating internship of six months.
Eligibility:
1. 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course of English as prescribed by the NCERT or equivalent qualification as prescribed in the Veterinary Council of India Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education Degree Course (BVSc & AH) Regulations, 1993.
2. BSc graduates from a recognised University with not less than two of the following subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany/Zoology) having passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 50% (40% for SC/ST candidates) marks in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or at the higher examination obtaining not less than 50% (40% for SC/ST candidates) marks in aggregate in not less than two of the following subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany/Zoology).
Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in March/April 2004 whose results are likely to be declared before July 1, 2004, are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit: Not less than 17 years as on December 31, 2004.
How to Apply:
The information bulletin and application form can be obtained by post on payment of Rs 750 (Rs 400 for SC/ST candidates) including examination fee, handling and other charges by DD drawn in favour of the Veterinary Council of India payable at New Delhi on the State Bank of India or any other Scheduled Bank.
The request should be accompanied by two plain paper slips with complete address and pin-code of the candidate and a self-addressed unstamped envelope of 24 cms x 18 cms.
Cash/Money Order or any other form of payment will not be accepted.
The request should be sent to the office of Veterinary Council of India, A Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi 110066 by February 16, 2004.
The information bulletin and form can also be obtained in person on payment of Rs 700 (Rs 350 for SC/ST candidates) by DD drawn in favour of the Veterinary Council of India payable at New Delhi on the State Bank of India or any other Scheduled Bank from the office of the Veterinary Council of India on working days between 1000 hours to 1200 hours and 1430 hours to 1630 hours till February 23, 2004.
Candidates residing in Andaman & Nicobar Union Territory can also get the information bulletin and application form from the Registrar, Andaman & Nicobar Veterinary Council, Andaman & Nicobar Admn, Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, PB No 2, Port Blair 744102.
Important Dates:
Last date for request of information bulletin and application forms by post: February 16, 2004.
Last date for obtaining information bulletin and application forms across the counter: February 23, 2004.
Last date for receipt of completed application forms: February 23, 2004.
For candidate belonging to Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Ladakh region of Jammu & Kashmir, the last date for request of applications and receipt of completed forms shall be 15 days later than the above-mentioned dates.
