Sameer Bhujbal, the high-profile nephew of former Maharashtra deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal, was on Saturday grilled for three hours by the Special Investigation Team probing the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam.

This was Sameer's third appearance before the SIT.

He arrived at the SIT's Worli office in central Mumbai at about 11 am. Sources said today's questioning focused around the alleged links of politicians with the prime accused in the fake stamp paper scam, Abdul Karim Telgi.

Scientific tests conducted on multi-millionaire Antim Totla, believed to be a close associate of Telgi, and his brother-in-law Prakash Jakhete had yielded important information about Telgi's links in Mantralaya and how he influenced transfers in the police department.

Chhagan Bhujbal is likely to appear before the SIT on March 2.
