A mourning mother welcomes D P Yadav's exit

Neelam Katara, mother of Nitish Katara who was allegedly killed by Vikas Yadav, son of controversial Rajya Sabha member D P Yadav, on Tuesday welcomed Bharatiya Janata Party's decision to cancel Yadav's membership.

She said the move raised the stature of the party.

"My respect towards BJP has grown. They have shown that ideals that they claim to stand for, they can abide them also. By accepting their mistake and rethinking on their decision, a national party like BJP has earned the respect of people," Katara's mother said.

The induction of D P Yadav on February 20 had stirred a hornet's nest within the party and opposition also pointing an accusing finger at the BJP.
