Vaiko released from prison

A division bench comprising Justice V S Sirpurkar and Justice S M Ibrahim Khallifulla has issued a notice to Vaiko.

The judges, however, dismissed the government's interim prayer to stay the operation of the order.

The Tamil Nadu believes that the POTA court failed to take note of the gravity of the offence for which Vaiko was being tried.

Vaiko was released on bail on February 7 from the Vellore Central prison where he was detained under the Prevention of Terrorist Acatvities Act since July 2002.
