Motorcycle-borne assailants shot dead former Congress legislator Pankaj Kumar in Patna, Bihar, on Thursday, police said.
The attack took place when Kumar was going for his morning walk to a park in Jakkanpur locality, Senior Superintendent of Police N H Khan said.
Kumar, who had represented Congress from Hilsa assembly seat in Nalanda district, died on the spot.
His body was taken to Patna Medial College Hospital for post-mortem.
