The Patna civil court on Wednesday rejected  the case against Chief Election Commissioner T S Krishna Murthy by dalits.

The dalits were beneficiaries of Rashtriya Janata Dal chief and railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav's largesse a couple of days ago.

The court  after hearing  the  plea said that there was no merit in the case.

However, Abhay Kumar Choudhary, secretary of the Ambedkarvadi Samaj Vikash Parishad, said that they would move the Patna High Court and, if necessary, the Supreme Court Court too.

A group of dalits in Bihar, including the Ambedkarvadi Samaj Vikash Parishad, had filed the case against Krishnamurthy on Tuesday for ordering a first information report against Lalu.

Lalu was shown on a TV channel distributing money to Dalit women in Dariyapur and Ibrahimpur villages after the election code of conduct came into effect.

Abhay Kumar Choudhary said the police complaint had humiliated dalits.

"It is an act of human rights violation. We have filed the case on this ground under the Dalit Atrocities Prevention Act," he said.

The petitioners, including the Dalit women who were given the money, were co-accused in the FIR.
