ULFA chief Paresh Baruah ill

Top United Liberation Front of Asom leader Paresh Baruah has taken seriously ill and will not be in a position to remain in contact with Gyanpith awarded Indira Roysom Goswami who has been attempting to get the insurgent outfit to hold talks with the Centre, the outfit's chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa said in Guwahati on Friday.

In an e-mail to a section of the media, Rajkhowa said Baruah had to undergo an emergency surgical operation. Hence, he had to be moved to a place were advanced medical facilities were available.
