Sri Lankan Tourism Minister Anura Banadaranaike has rapped senior officials for not ensuring sufficient security arrangements for Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's concert in Colombo.

The minister, who is also the brother of President Chandrika Kumaratunga, has sought an explanation from the director of the Tourist Board, under his ministry, on how the board was associated with the 'Temptation 2004' show without his knowledge, the state-run Daily News reported on Tuesday.

The minister has asked why no serious consideration was given to provide sufficient security despite protests by Buddhist groups against the show for many days before the concert.

Two people were killed and 19 others, including the wife of former cricketer Ravi Shastri, were injured in a blast on Saturday at the fag end of the concert at former Race Course.
