The Patna high court has issued a show cause notice to a mosque  for disturbing the proceedings of the court  by using a loudspeaker during azaan.

The notice has asked the members of the mosque managing committee why three months of civil imprisonment should not be imposed on them for disturbing the court proceedings.

The mosque is situated next to the court.

The HC has fixed the next date of hearing on December 17, a court official said on Friday.

The court, while passing the order in the contempt case, said that it had already issued an order that bans the use of loudspeakers.
