Militants on Thursday attacked a Special Operations Group camp in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, triggering a fierce gun battle, official sources said.
A group of militants targeted the SOG camp at Imam Sahib in Shopian, 55 km from Srinagar, around 4.15 pm, they said.
The personnel manning the camp retaliated and a gun battle ensued. When reports last came in, exchange of fire was continuing.
Unconfirmed reports said two policemen were killed and three others, including the in-charge of the camp, Deputy
Superintendent of Police Javid Iqbal, were injured.
