For the first time youths from eight states, as part of a national integration camp, have launched a clean-up operation on the hills along the route of the Amarnath Yatra, which concluded on Monday.
"Three to four hundred youths have converged at Sonamarg base camp to clean the hills of poly-bags and other items left by the pilgrims during the one-and-a-half month yatra," Jammu and Kashmir Minister of Roads and Buildings Gulam Ahmed Mir said.
Mir who inaugurated the seven-day camp, organised by the Nehru Yuva Kender.
A record number of over three lakh pilgrims undertook the yatra, Mir added.
