Beleaguered Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren, now in judicial remand in Ranchi in connection with the Chirrudih massacre, was produced on Friday before a Jamtara court, which set August 18 as the next date for his appearance.
On August 18, the court will hand over police papers under CrPC section 207/208 to Soren and another accused Nathinial, who is already in jail for his alleged involvement in the same case.
Earlier, the court has allowed Soren to be produced before a Jamshedpur court on August 16. He had jumped bail in connection with the violation of prohibitory orders.
Yesterday Soren had appeared before a Giridh court in connection with a murder case at Kudko village 30 years ago.
The First Additional District and Sessions Judge, Manoranjan Kavi, directed Soren be kept in judicial custody in Jamtara while fixing September 9 as the next date for production.
Soren's petition for bail would come up during the day in the Giridih court.
Soren is in a make-shift jail in Jamtara for his alleged involvement in the 1975 Chirrudih massacre.
