20 men trapped in HP tunnel rescued

Twenty labourers who were trapped in a tunnel at the Parvati hydel power project site, 60km from Kullu, Himachal Pradesh [ Images ], have been rescued, according to reports.

The labourers of Patel Engineering [ Get Quote ] Company, engaged by National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd for the project, were working inside the tunnel when landslides blocked its exit following a cloudburst at around 1200 IST.
