India and Pakistan on Friday agreed to continue their discussions for resolving the Siachen glacier issue in a peaceful manner and to have further talks on modalities for disengagement and redeployment of troops.
A joint statement issued after two days of defence secretary-level talks on Siachen said frank and candid discussions were held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere aimed at taking the peace process forward.
Both sides assessed positively the ceasefire that has been in effect since November 25, 2003 on the Actual Ground Position Line.
