Soren surrenders; in judicial remand till Aug 13

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren was on Monday remanded to judicial custody till August 13 after his bail prayer was rejected when he surrendered before the district and sessions fast track court in Jamtara.

District and Sessions Fast Track Court Judge Uday Narain Mishra passed the orders in the case relating to the 1975 Chirrudih massacre.

Soren would be housed in a makeshift jail, the chamber of principal of the Jamatara Women's College temporarily. He would be taken to Hazaribagh on Tuesday.

A non-bailable arrest warrant had been issued by the  Jamtara court against Soren in connection with the Chirrudih massacre case.   

Earlier, the court had rejected the bail aplication of Soren, who had surrendered before the District and Sessions fast track court .
