Gautam, Nafisa squabbled over her drinking habits: Police

Gautam Khanduja, the Mumbai-based businessman under spotlight following the suicide of his fiancee and model Nafisa Joseph, has said he and Nafisa had quarrels over the latter's drinking habits.

"However, drinking was not the only reason. Primarily it was the differences in their temperaments, which is inclusive of a lot of factors," DCP Amitabh Gupta said.

Khanduja's lawyer, Deepesh Mehta said: "I don't think drinking was the primary reason. It was just one of the various reasons. Primarily they were different in temperaments."

The model-turned-veejay was found dead in her suburban flat on July 29.

Nafisa's mother had alleged that her daughter was driven to take the extreme step after her planned marriage with Khanduja came apart.
